The principal of a high school in Saskatchewan has suspended one of her students for having an opinion....on marijuana.
The kid was also threatened with police action after he, the student, made a case that marijuana was less harmful than alcohol.
"In my opinion, cannabis is safer than they say, it is not worse than alcohol or tobacco," said the student.
"You have been using and selling marijuana," said the principal.
"I've never smoked marijuana. I've never even seen it," said the kid.....
The boy claimed he had done independent research on marijuana use out of personal curiosity and decided to share his findings with his friends at school.
Imagine that...studying on his own initiative and then sharing his learning with friends....without being told to do so.
The result - get out of school! And take your brother with you!
A violation of the boys right to freedom of speech?
I heard a story about a fellow from up north visiting FL. Some locals at the bar down south asked the Canuck where he was from.
"Saskatoon, Saskatchewan," he replied.
The man speechless returned to the bar counter.
When the bartender asked the regular, "Where's he from?"
The regular responded, "Don't know. He doesn't speak English."
Freedom of speech or not, maybe we just can't understand what they are saying above the country border, eh?
